One thing that would do you well to keep in mind is that a yellow check engine light is not usually any cause for concern. In such cases, you should be able to drive your car safely to a repair shop in order to have a more thorough diagnosis performed. If your check engine light shows up red however, you have a more serious situation on your hands. When this happens, you should get your vehicle off the road as soon as possible, in the safest way possible. Make sure that you do so as safely as possible however, as getting into a fender bender at this crucial juncture would only make your problems worse.
